The last week of the term has arrived very quickly. On Tuesday Jed and Chris from Sport Canterbury came to show us some cricket skills. We learnt how to throw the ball and catch by making a basket with our hands. We had to say "Basket, close it and chest" so we wouldn't drop it. We had turns hitting the ball with the bat and we learnt to have the bat  on the flat side. They taught us some games like snowball and ball basket.
At Art class we finished our Spring paintings and they look fabulous.
Yesterday and today we worked on our calendars and have them finished. They are ready to be laminated and will be for sale next term.
We performed our song and played musical instruments at Whanau Time. We thought we made a brilliant effort and everyone clapped. Jamie and Kaylee did a fantastic job as our announcers.

This week we have been writing CHAPTER STORIES1
We wrote about a sad chimp and we used our GREEN HAT and our imagination for ideas.
Our stories are super.
Next we have to illustrate our stories and make covers for them.
We are really glad that we can keep coming to KBS because there are happy kids here and we get to learn more each day. KBS is a great place to learn!

Today we did some planting - Phelix
We put our names on the pottles so we would know who  they belong to. Alfie
Next we used a spoon to put soil in our potholes. Isaac
The seeds had to be put in carefully up the right way.
Then we had to cover the seed with more soil. Steph
All the pottles were put in ice-cream containers and put on the table in the sun. Libby
Now all we have to do is wait until our courgettes grow and we can eat them, Yum, yum.

Here are the "happenings this week!

Singing Twinkle Twinkle Vegemite with Noah playing on the keyboard.

Making blossom trees and learning facts about Seasons and Spring,
Making paper daffodils - they really make our room look like Spring!
We wrote stories about Spring.

Today our poem was about a hairdryer. We had to use our Blue and Green Hats to design a hair dyer. We had to think about color, shape, power cord, on/off buttons, hot and cold buttons. We had a vote for the best design and Jade won!

We think Sophie Pascoe is great to win all those medals at the Olympics and she only has one leg to make her swim the fastest!.
